They Told You There Are No Jobs? Lie!
If you are a young person living in Nigeria today, you must have been bombarded with the idea that there are no jobs. If you don’t hear it from your parents, you see it in the news or on social media. Most people who heard this, to an extent, settled with the idea and didn’t bother to make the slightest effort to a get job.
My focus in this post is to help you see that the claim that there are no jobs is a fallacy!
A proof that there are actually jobs is the fact that companies are hiring every time and as people are retiring so are they being replaced with others. Similarly, new companies are getting started almost every week and they all need people to run them and not ghosts and machines.
So, there are actually jobs— but for the prepared!
You see, unlike the days of old when we had more jobs than labourers, when employees with minimal or no qualifications get hired and at the same time granted a chance to learn on the job, the reverse is the case now. We have more qualified people graduating from institutions and the competition for job are getting tougher!
Those who get certain jobs are those who positioned themselves for the job. The implication is that while some people are at home lamenting on lack of jobs, there are people being invited for interviews and eventually employed. As some are at home lamenting on the ‘No job!’ there are others who are being employed. It’s not necessarily only because of their connections but their preparedness for such jobs.

The claim that there are no jobs is a fallacy. What’s true is that there are jobs for the prepared and your key to securing such job is equipping yourself with relevant skills and training with authentic and professional certifications. Those who get available jobs are those well positioned for their dream job. As some people are at home lamenting that ‘No job!’ there are others who are being employed. It’s not necessarily only because of their connections but their preparedness for such jobs.
